2 step authentication

Added security for your personal data

ID MEO
    • What is 2 step authentication?

2 step authentication assigns an additional security to your authentication in all sites and applications by MEO, MEO EMPRESAS and MOCHE.
This process involves 2 subsequent stages to check your identity, whenever you start a session on a device you didn’t set as trusted:

      1. The combination of your username and password.
      2. An additional security code sent by SMS to the provided mobile phone.

    • How can you enable it?

From now on you can enable the "2 step authentication" through your profile:

      1. Insert your mobile phone number (where you will receive the security code sent by SMS).
      2. Enable 2 step authentication.

    • How does it work?

After you enable this feature, whenever you begin a session, you should follow these steps:

      Enter username and password.

After we validate your username and password, you will receive a SMS with a token.

      Enter the received token.

After you enable 2 step authentication, you can use this feature for:

      1. Set devices as trusted: Whenever you start a session, define the device browser as trusted and eliminate the need to enter the security code each time you use this browser.
      2. Define a security mobile phone: use this second mobile phone number in order to receive the security code in case you aren’t able to receive it on your main phone number.
      3. Create backup codes: use this codes in case you don’t have access to your main and backup mobile phone. Keep the secure codes safe, as they can only be used once.

If you prefer, you can easily disable this additional security, in your profile.
